BenQ GW2480 may seem like another budget 24” 1080P IPS monitor. However, the device still has some distinct features that may interest you. Want to know more? Continue with our gw2480 review to find out.

Quality of the Image

The panel of the monitor uses Advanced High Performance – In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) technology from LG. It has a 1.000:1 contrast ratio, a 250-nit peak bright, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Overall, the monitor has medium parameters on the line but still shows a decent image in the end; benq gw2480 covers the basic sRGB color space and supports 8-bit color via dithering – 6-bit and 2-bit FRC. The colors are bright, vibrant, and much better than on panels of a similar price.
The monitor has a Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 and shows a decent pixel density on a 23,8”. All these parameters result in clear and vivid details with a significant amount of the available screen space.
At the top of it, benq gw2480 has an integrated filter against harmful blue lights and a flicker-free backlight. There are four settings with low blue light: Office, Reading, Multimedia, and Web-Surfing.

BenQ GW2480 Performance

Benq 24 inch monitor has a high-speed response time of 5ms (GtG). Such speed excludes prominent ghosting and moving objects trailing in movies and video games. For the best response time performance, the Advanced Motion Acceleration option (AMA) shall be set to “High” or “Premium” toggle in the On-Screen Display menu. Besides, you may overclock the monitor up to a 75 Hz refresh rate for a slight clarity boost. GW2480 has 178-degree viewing angles that ensure no brightness, color, or contrast shifts when you look at the screen at a shifted angle. It is a common cause for IPS panels, but benq gw2480 successfully overcomes it. Moreover, there were no defects such as IPS slog, backlight bleeding, or dead pixels.

Main features of the monitor

One of the most exciting features that distinguished BenQ GW2480 from other 1080p IPS monitors and impressed the authors of the gw2480 review is the unique Brightness Intelligence Technology. The monitor has a special sensor that adjusts brightness according to the ambient lighting automatically.
Besides the obvious benefit of the image quality, it is healthy for your eyes also. You can adjust the settings of the function in the OSD menu or turn off the sensor completely.
Other benq gw2480 features include image presets such as Game, Movie, Photo, Standard, User, and Eco. You may also fine-tune the image settings manually and find the best fitting parameters. There are such adjustments as gamma presets, saturation and hue configuration, RGB color levels, settings of brightness, sharpness, and contrast.
Three buttons, at the bottom side of the benq 24 inch monitor, control the OSD interface; up to three hotkeys can be assigned with specific shortcut functions.

BenQ GW2480 monitorBenQ GW2480 Design

The benq 24 inch monitor has a modest and efficient design, with thin bezels and premium texture. The most positive side of the design is the great cable management system. You can remove a part of the stand to conceal the cables. The stand tilt is between -5° and 20°.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, and VGA ports. Usually, such variety is not available in this price category. There is a jack for headphones and two 1W integrated speakers.

BenQ GW2480 Gaming MonitorFinal Thoughts

Overall impressions from this gw2480 review – it is a decent budget monitor for office, and gaming usage due to its features, affordable price, and awesome image quality. Due to its thin bezels, it can be a part of a multi-monitor setup easily. Still, there are better options exclusively for gaming.
