Follow the track

Here we begin the amnesia walkthrough. The game starts with a wake-up in a castle’s corridor. When you look around, you see the big shut door behind you and the trail of rose petals in front of you. At this point, a memento will be added to your journal. Mementos serve as hints for progress and current tasks at the moment. The current memento says, “Follow the liquid trail and find its source.” That’s your first goal.

There are not many options except following forward along the liquid trail. Turn right; the door will swing open before you. Tinderboxes are a valuable tool of survival in the game. The best variant is to light candles in the rooms with puzzles and in corridors through which you will backtrack.

Go upstairs and follow the hallway until you find yourself in a big room. Grab a tinderbox on the far wall and leave the room. The next room teaches you about staying out of the darkness. Leave the room and follow the trail down the stairs.

Archives

Go through the newly busted open door. Turn left and then head forward. When you hear growling – turn back to the Local History Room, then into a secret room, and hide in the cabinet. Wait until the unknown threat goes away. This level will end the entry amnesia walkthrough section.

Leave the cabinet and return to the path you followed. Turn right in the direction of a piano and move forward. There will be another hallway to your right, go there.

You may hear another growling from whatever it may be. When you think it is safe, go back to the hallway, and then you can exit back to the Entrance Hall. If you hear the growl near the exit, just make a run for it.

Laboratory of Amnesia game

Follow the corridor to the entrance. The red organic stuff should be avoided; it damages your health when contacted. Then, follow down the stairs, you find yourself in the laboratory. Finally, go forward, up the stairs, and you find yourself in the main room.

When you enter the room, you will hear a memory about everything that has been transported to the cellar. Then, locate the grate on the ground. Listen to more flashbacks. Next, open the furnace to get some ash. You are done here for a while; move to the cellar. It is one of the tensest parts of the amnesia dark descent walkthrough.

You need to use the key from your inventory to open the cellar. Go down the stairs and look at the map on your right. The first chemical element you are looking for lies near the inverted table. Then, go left and forward. You will notice some meat pieces as your landmark. Turn left again and enter a cabinet; there will be the second chemical element you need, the bottle of Cuprite.

Leave the cabinet and go right, and then away along the wall. Continue to the next section of the room. Move through the room filled with the bottles of wine to get the last ingredient you need. Return, enter the first door on the left. Then go up the stairs and leave the cellar. Return to the lab.

Acid Create

Go down the stairs and return to the laboratory. Now you have to mix the chemicals you found in the previous rooms. Fill the vials with the chemicals, then turn the leftmost valve. Apply your inventory by clicking on the ampoules. Next, turn all the valves clockwise. Retrieve the ampoule filled with the acid.

Refinery

Go upstairs. You will see that the stairs were destroyed by the earthquake. To move further, pick two wooden boards next to you and place them over the gap. They will adjust automatically so you can go through. Turn left and return to the entrance corridor. Then go down to the stairs near the circle. Go further, and apply the acid to the red, organic mass. Now, you can continue your path to the refinery.

Continue to the room filled with barrels; here will be another monster encounter. It is a challenging amnesia storage walkthrough section. Wait until the creature leaves and then proceed. Collect all the notes. Then, return to the previous room. Look to your right; you should see boxes. Move them aside to uncover the hidden passage. Enter it.

Move to the hatch with the rope attached. The exit will be blocked, and the trapdoor can’t be opened. Take something heavy in your hands and throw it in the stick that locks the trapdoor. The block will be removed, and you will be able to turn the wheel to open the passage forward.

Cellar

Run as fast as you can and try not to stay in the water for too long. Enter the room on the right, then climb on the crates. Pull the lever. Turn off the light and throw something in the water to distract the creature in it. Jump over the litter in the corridor to reach the end of the corridor. It ends with the gat; after that, you will be safe.

However, don’t relax. In the next section, move to the left immediately. There is a gate controlled by the valve on your left. Pick up a mutilated body and throw it as far from you as possible. Run towards the gate while the monster is distracted. Take another meat piece and throw it again. Turn the valve clockwise. Repeat until the gates are open. Enter the next room, pick up the syringe and use it on the door in front of you. In the next section, run forward, open the door, and close it behind you immediately. Back Hall

Turn back from the fountain and go upstairs, and turn left, enter the back hall. Go into the first room to the right, the guest room. Take the note from the table. Go back to the main guest room and use the prybar from your inventory on the locked door. Check out the open cabinet on the right. After you read the note near the table, the monster will enter the room. Hide in the open cabinet. After the monster left, look at the painting in the room. Put it aside and take the key in the bottle. It will open the door to the engine room.

Parts of Elevator

In this section, you need to collect rods to operate the elevator. It is a relatively easy part of the amnesia the dark descent walkthrough.The first one will be pretty close, but the path to the rest of the rods will be blocked by boulders. To move forward, you need to compile an explosive. To do that, you need to collect several parts of the drill, combine them, and fill the jar from the inventory with the liquids stored in the barrels of the section. The section does not have to be difficult – move clockwise, and look closely for the drill parts. However, don’t drop down your guard. This section is filled with monsters, and there is no actual safe spot. Just keep moving and collect useful stuff. Eventually, you’ll progress to the next area.

Fix Elevator

This section is relatively calm and filled with puzzles. You need to solve three segments to start up the elevator and to proceed further. In the puzzle with the levers, you need to place them in a way that upper and bottom lines must add up to 8. The upper line is III, III, II; and the bottom VI and II.

Another puzzle involves rods and different geometrical figures. Place flow cycle rod in the circle hole, the trinity steam rod in the triangle, and the four-phase amplitude rod in the square.

Finally, there are several cogs in the rooms that are needed in the last puzzle room. Heat the furnace with coal and place cogs in the panel on the wall. The elevator is working now; time to move on.

Southern and Northern Prison

It is an extremely dark and tricky area; one of the hardest parts of the amnesia the dark descent walkthrough. To move through it, you need to find a hammer and a chisel. You may find the hammer in one of the cells under the bed. Move twice leftward from the start to find the room. The chisel is in the opposite corridor. Move with caution; there are several monsters in the area. Combine the chisel and hammer and use them on the locked door that leads to the next part of the level.

Find the room where you see a flashback. Move the bed aside and expand the hole in the ground. Proceed in it.

In the next section, you need to reach the kitchen. Find a glass container, and fill it with the green liquid from the cauldron in the kitchen. It is acid. Apply it to the rusty lock at the east wing of the section. Then, apply the hammer and chisel to the lock. You are magnificent, move further.

Cistern

First of all, collect the oil leaking from the pipe and grease the mechanism to descend the ladder. Then, adjust the bridges until the lever is broken. The next segment is pretty straightforward: you need to jump over the platforms and reach the areas where you can land safely. Cross the room, and break the chain to secure the route. Control Room

This room is filled with puzzles like the one about fixing the elevator. You need to adjust weights and collect pipes to move forward. The weights are placed in the two mirror rooms. You need to place the weights in the room with valves identically to the opposite room.

Next, proceed to the room with the pipe holes. Block the entrance to the room with crates and pull the pipes into the room. They are litter across the floor; watch carefully for them.

After you finish with the pipes, go downstairs and pick the wooden gear. There will be a control panel; move only the first and the fourth levers. You will return to the main cistern. Free the bridge from any obstacles. Now you can proceed to the morgue.

Morgue

Here you will need to produce the vaccine to move further. Find a body on the table; it will be the source of the vaccine. Another important room is one filled with corpses; you will hide here a bit later. Collect all the notes and listen to the flashbacks. After that, apply the drill to the corpse. Then, use the pipe from your inventory and finally the syringe.

After that, the monster will break into the room. Hide in the room filled with bodies and wait until the creature is gone. After the path is clear, return to the main cistern room and go down to the sewers. Now it is safe to proceed through poison fungus.

Sewer Study

In this section, you’ll need to start an engine and prepare to escape from another monster. Hide from the first encounter with the creature. Then, pick up the tube for the inventory. Go to the engine room. Place yourself in front of the control panel. Make sure that the lever fits the smaller gear. Repeat the operation for the larger gear on the right. After that, the engine will start, and the monster will appear. Hide from the creature, then go to the large motor in the sewers corridors. Apply the tube from the inventory to stop it. Crouch under and continue to the next room. Hide from the monster.

Escape from the Sewer

You will need to distract the monster to proceed further. Go to the left when the path is safe. Find a rock and return to the starting position. Throw the rock to the path on your left and wait until the monster is distracted by it. Run fast towards the exit, and block the door when you made it. Climb the ladder.

Nave

It is time for some exploration. From this part, the concluding section of the amnesia the dark decent walkthrough begins. Take your time and learn the ins and outs of the Nave. The key figure here is a chained man who calls himself Agrippa. Talk to the alchemist. Then, you need to climb the table and open the trapdoor. Use crates to make it easier. Go straight and enter the Transept.

Collect Agrippa Sphere and potion

Each of the rooms has a piece of the sphere. At the same time, you will have to deal with the huge amount of stress for your character, so do not hesitate in the rooms. Besides, you will need to collect the components for Agrippa’s potion. Eventually, when you return from the Transept, the monsters will catch you. Do not worry, it is a part of the story flow.

Escape from Cell

The puzzle here is not difficult. Wait till the monster leaves. One of the bars in the cell is flexible. Remove it and crouch out from the cell. Find a bucket and fill it with water. Then, pour the water into the pipe and find the key. Unlock the door. When you leave the prison, an invisible monster will chase you. Run as fast as you can and do not hesitate. Once you’ve escaped, you will return to the nave.

Agrippa’s tonic

Do not forget to brew the tonic before proceeding further. Go to the laboratory on the nave; now it is open. Use the machines in the laboratory to fuse the materials you found in the transept. After it is done, give the tonic to Agrippa and remove his head. It is important if you want to get a good ending.

Sphere

Return to the hall with bridges. Botch the machinery with a rock to proceed further. You will face the obstacle that requires the sphere to proceed. Compose the sphere on the pedestal. End of The Amnesia Game

Here you will see the resolution of the story. You will have three choices to end the game.

  • Wait until the baron finishes his ritual. Accept the doom of the main character.
  • You may ruin the ritual by moving the columns of energy in the room.
